About

Thousands of us are living our dreams by doing things we actually enjoy, instead of a 9 to 5 “regular job” if we even have a job at all. We are out there going by many names: Digital Nomads, Location Independent Professionals (LIP), Technomads and many others. You’ll meet many of us here. If you are one of us or would like to be, then stick around!

To Live Collar Free is to take control of your own life and work. Some of us work for ourselves, some for various freelance clients, others have corporate jobs workshifting or telecommuting. Very few have face-to-face jobs that force us to work in a particular place, while many use the internet and technology to do remote work while living in an RV or abroad.

We interview and introduce you to these people who have freed themselves from any typical lifestyle and are living the unconventional life of their choosing. We will have products for sale periodically and review products we like and use. The goal is to help this community of people living freely and those who want such a life.

We don’t tell people how to live their lives, we show them the possibilities. We don’t have to be relegated to a white-collar job or a blue-collar job. We can truly Live Collar Free.

Though I have had some “regular jobs”, I have a distaste for doing things that don’t make much sense. I have issues with places that encourage pointlessness just to give the appearance of productivity. This is prevalent in modern corporate America, and makes me basically unemployable.

I learned along the way that there are tons of unconventional fields, and have kind of made up my own jobs as I went. There are plenty of others forging their own path and sharing it with others.

A constant sponge for information and learning, I continue to absorb as much info as I can about the wide variety of things that interest me. I spend too much time in front of computers, and get outside as much as possible, whether traveling, motorcycling, kayaking, camping or pedaling.

I spent most of my life in a 300-mile circle centered around Los Angeles, but I now am usually based in the Tampa Bay area, and love it here. I travel as often as possible because I enjoy exploring all the things to see in this wonderful world we occupy.
